East Lombok Regency is an earthquake-prone region and therefore requires a disaster mitigation policy that is aligned with the local wisdom of its communities. This study aims to analyze the level of earthquake risk and local wisdom-based mitigation policy after the earthquake in East Lombok Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed; data were collected through in-depth interviews with 20 informants, observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results show that of the regency's total land area of 160,635 hectares, 26,493 hectares (16.49%) fall into the high earthquake hazard class, and the regency's overall earthquake risk is classified as high. To minimize this risk, a mitigation policy based on local wisdom is needed, namely the earthquake-resistant traditional house Bale Tani and gotong royong (mutual cooperation). These local practices can be revitalized by strengthening street-level bureaucracy, namely the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) at the regency level and the Village Disaster Preparedness Team (TSBD) at the village level, together with the issuance of a regent regulation on disaster mitigation planning and the revision of the regional spatial planning regulation.
